Finding Your Path To Financial Freedom
There's many ways in this world to become financially free. Hopefully this article gives you some idea on how to do so.
Before we start...
We have to first define what is Financial Freedom. Different people have a different definition on financial freedom.
Some people define Financial Freedom, as the number of months difference of your age and your life expectancy, multiply by the number of months of your spending based on your expected lifestyle.
Simply put, FF= 12(a - b) x $c
a=Life Expectancy
b=Age
c=Your spending per month based on the lifestyle you want
You can work at a job and start saving money every month for your retirement fund, and you can have financial freedom when you retire.
To me? That's too little for me. Financial Freedom is when I don't have to worry about money and all, and I can have the freedom to do anything without considering the price tag.
So how do I achieve that? My financial freedom is made from passive income.
How to generate passive income?
Based on Robert Kiyosaki's Cashflow Quadrant, the way to generate passive income is being a Business owner or a Investor.
Actually, there is more than those 2 ways. You can make passive income through royalties made from music or other intellectual properties. Alternatively, you can also make passive income from renting. From renting cars, to houses, to tools and equipments.
But I'm sure you did not stumbled here because you wanna learn how to write music. Most methods above requires a big capital to actually generate a good source of passive income for our lifestyle.
To be Business owner, you can start your own business and systemise it to make passive income for yourself, or alternatively you could franchise a business.
To be an Investor, there's so many things you can do. You can trade or invest in options, stocks, Forex, bonds etc. Or you could invest into gold, silver, properties, businesses etc. There's many options out there. And there are trading and investment gurus out there who can offer you 10% returns every single month. But, take a minute to think. If you had $100,000 dollars, you could potentially be making $10,000 dollars. Is that sufficient for your lifestyle? But what if you only had $1000? You'll only make $100 dollars every month. That's not enough for you right?
When I was 18, I decided that I was going to start a recording studio. I started working it out from my home. Spent close to $15000 dollars, but I knew it is going to be really hard for me to retire with this business. I need to build a system that can allow me to make passive income. To do that, I need to train people up who can start doing production for me, do the marketing for me, hire more qualified and experienced people to build the business. There was just too much things to do, and too little time to do it. I gave it up as a serious business.
And then came network marketing
That was when my sister, introduced network marketing to me. Robert Kiyosaki names it personal franchising. He calls it the perfect business. Why is this so?
Network marketing costs you only a couple of hundred bucks to start, while investing, trading and most businesses require a big capital.
It is a part-time business. Making a transition from having a job to a business owner a smoother one. There is no need for you to quit your job to do this business.
To be a businessman, you need to have the right mindset. Through working with a network marketing company, they train you up in terms of mindset and skills on business. When I was working with my network marketing company, I was attending courses that the company organises and they were sending down their top income earners and trainers down to train us. Before, I had no motivation, low confidence. Today, I'm a self-motivated and confident individual helping others to do the same. Working with a network marketing company helps you to grow as a person.
When I joined my network marketing business, I'm already franchising this business from the company. Think of this, how much does it take to franchise Mcdonalds? Right now, I'm franchising a business for only a couple of hundred bucks. The system of the business is already there, there is no need for me to build it from scratch.
Starting out, I was working as a self-employed. As I worked at my business, until a point where the business grows without me being there, I've grown it into a full-fletched systemized business, and I'm getting passive income every single month that is more than enough for most people to have a comfortable life.
This is why I highly recommend network marketing.
But don't just stop there! Take some of that money and start creating more sources of income and make even more money!

Should You Be Doing Network Marketing?
If you are constantly nodding your head while you're reading this, it's time for you to start researching on network marketing companies and jump on one now!
There is no such thing as a DREAM JOB!
When I finished secondary school(high school), I took on my first job as a waiter in a cafe. It felt pretty good when I started. Learnt a bit of stuff here and there on how to take orders, handle customers etc. But after the first 2 weeks, I started to hate it. I had to be there early in the morning, not a minute late. Every single time I was late, my boss would lecture me on punctuality. And he wasn't a very nice person.
If you guys knew how Singapore is like, almost all the employees there were foreigners who couldn't speak good English at all. I had a hard time conversing with them. Other than the managers and another fellow Singaporean there, the rest were foreigners. I left the job after working for a couple of months.
Then I took up my next job as a retail assistant with a popular sports brand. I made a lot of friends there who were around my age. It was so much fun working with them. But I had an awful manager who was very controlling and critical. One day, I couldn't take it anymore and after the day ended, I left the job.
That was when I knew, there is no such thing as a DREAM JOB or PERFECT JOB! I wasn't gonna spend another 40-50 years of my life(retirement age is 65 in Singapore), "backstabbing" people to climb up the corporate ladder. I wasn't gonna waste 8 hours of my time every single day doing something I'm tolerating, just so I can feed myself. I knew I was better than that. I knew my time was worth so much more. I wasn't gonna work at a job anymore, at least just temporary.
I took on a job as a roadie for a live sound rental company thereafter. It was a much better one. I had a good boss and great colleagues, but the pay wasn't good enough.
You want to work for yourself
After working at my previous job for a couple of years. I started playing as a freelance musician for weddings and events. I see jobs differently from everybody else. It don't care how much money I'll be paid at all. Even if I was making a 6-figure income every month, I will still not do it. I don't wanna be called for a conference at night just to speak to people from another end of the world. I don't wanna jump on a last minute flight just because my job calls. I was dissuading people that jobs stinks and we shouldn't be building someone else's dream and everyone thinks I'm crazy.
I was paid a couple of hundred bucks just for a night. It was pretty good money. But at certain months, it was pretty dry. I realised that if I didn't work, I wasn't gonna get the money for myself.
But you're afraid of the change
One day, my sister spontaneously asked me to go with her to a seminar. It was a network marketing seminar, but I knew nothing about it. And my sister didn't told me she was in it. It was the first time I was introduced to this new business concept and I signed up immediately.
I knew I wanted to start being financially free, and this allows me to make that gradual change to. I don't have to quit what I'm doing now, and just take whatever free time after that on this venture.
This is how I have been building my network marketing business of hundreds of downlines which is growing every single day.
I was chatting with a close friend one day on how people are working at a job that they hate but they have to do it because they have to. She said this to me, "Their source of pain is also their source of security."
Do you still want that?
Do you believe that there is no such thing as job security?
Do you believe that ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS?
Do you believe that the value of people is based on their results, not that degree, not that perfect GPA score, not that ass-kissing skills that they have?
Even if you are at a job, you just can't wait for the day when you FIRE YOUR BOSS?
The thought yourself being in a rat race, waking up by your alarm clock, dragging your feet to work just to witness all that "office politics", and trying to keep up that "hardworking worker" image for the next 40+ years makes you sick?
Do you wish you have more time to spend with your family and friends?
Do you wish to make a difference in people's lives?
Do you have the burning desire to make lots of money?
Start researching on one that suits you right now!

3 Important Tips on Mindset for Network Marketing
Without a Right Mindset at work, it is tough for you to be successful in networking marketing. Here are some of my personal secrets I will share with you on how to be successful.
Personal Development
To be successful in this business, it is about personal development. You have to understand that in this business, nobody cares what is the product that you're selling, how good is it, how good the compensation plan is or how great is the growth of the company. Develop yourself as a person and let others see the value in you. Increase the value in yourself by increasing your knowledge.
Get into the habit of learning something new everyday. Be it from books, audio, videos etc. All these will help you grow as a person and it will also gives you a different perspective about life. Start applying these knowledge. Try something new everyday. Pick up a cooking skill, or martial arts, or a new dance. Once you start enjoying your life, people will rush to you wanting to find out how you manage to do all these that they can't. Now people are coming to you instead of you looking for prospects.
Find the right mentor
Most people start in network marketing believing that it is a great company, great product, that they can have the life that they want and that they can be successful in it. For some people, it did happen to them. But do you know that more than 90% of the people fail in network marketing? That's because they don't have the necessary skills and mindset for the business. These skills can sometimes take time to build.
Find a right mentor who already has the level of success you are looking for. They would already know what are the steps you need to achieve what you want. It will shorten your learning curve and be your shortcut to your success.
Take action!
All that you learn amounts to nothing if you don't take action. Set daily goals for yourself. Make sure you stick to it. Personally, when I started my own network marketing business, I was setting a goal of presenting to 2 new prospects everyday. I was jotting down all my meetings and appointments with my prospects, when I should be making a call to them. Making sure I follow up with every single one of them.
If you have other commitments as well, it is easy to forget some of your tasks that you need to complete. Make sure you jot them all down, into your smartphone or a notebook. If you're using a smartphone, that's even better. You can set alarms to remind yourself if you get too busy.
Set daily goals, set goals for yourself to achieve certain ranks in your company after a certain period of time, set goals for your team as well. If your team is successful, you will be successful too.

How to choose the right network marketing company?
There are many network marketing companies out there. Some of them are scams. I bet you've seen network marketing companies shut down because it conducted a pyramid scheme or ponzi scam. Even if it is a legitimate business, how do you ensure you get the best results by working for it. Here's how you can identify if you're with the right company, or if the company you are choosing is right for you.
Has the company been around for more than 4 years?
If you want your efforts to be paid off at the end of the day, you will want to work for a company that is able to sustain itself for a long term. 90% of network marketing companies fail within their first 2 years, and statistic shows that a network marketing company has to survive is first 4 years of business to be able to sustain itself for a long time. You don't want to be working hard, and then at the end of the day, the company shuts down and you don't get paid.
How does the company protects itself financially?
In short, how much of the revenue does the company use to pay out to its distributors. Imagine you own a business, and you're paying your employees too much, while you don't bring that much business in. If a network marketing company has too good of a compensation plan, it will not survive as well. Do the management of the company have experience in network marketing? The saying goes, "you can change the products, the compensation plan, but you can't change the owners!" If you join a network marketing company and the management do not have experience in network marketing, they can't give proper directions in terms of growing the business.
How does the company pays you?
Some company pays you into your bank account, some pays you over paypal, some into a company issued debit card. If your company is paying you by cash, it seems very bad in terms of their accounting to me, and I will doubt the company's credibility. When does your company pays you? There are companies that owe its distributors up to 2 years of commission. That's not a company I want to be with.
Does the company have a unique product?
If the company is selling a product that is easily available elsewhere, you are putting yourself in a position with many competitions
Is there a need for the company's product?
You can't sell something that people don't need. Period.
Is the company's product built on loyalty and long-term?
If your company's product is only usable for a short-term, how are you able to build long-term residual income. Unless these products can generate repeat customers. The best way is to sell a long-term product, that your customers will keep using. That way, you can be sure that you are generating sufficient residual income for yourself.
Is there a limit on your income from this business?
Most network marketing companies have a cap on how many levels deep in your organisation can you earn overriding commissions. That limits your potential earnings. Because the most money made is at the lowest level of your organisation. That's where you have the biggest number of sales team.
Most network marketing companies have a cap on your maximum income as well. What happens when you're at your highest earning capacity? You cannot be earning more anymore income. Some companies gives you a second business center for you to build your business again. That way, there is no limit in your maximum income.
Does the company have a great support system?
Most people who join network marketing have no experience on how to work on the business. The company must have a training and support system to train yourself, people that you recruited into the business to be able to sell the company products. Without a good training and support system, you will see people quitting the company one by one.
The company must have platforms to help newcomers grow their business too. Does your company leaders conduct seminars, assist in presentation, assist in training etc? If it doesn't, it is can be very easy to fail in this company.
Does the company take advantage of technology?
We are in a different age today. A company that does not take full advantage of the internet and online marketing will not be bringing lots of business. The number of leads you can find offline is not as vast as the number of leads you can find online. You will eventually run out of leads in your current network.
Is your business global?
Why work with a company that is only opened in your country? Why not work with a company that is global? Your potential customers is the whole world compared to the limited population in your own country.
Is the person who introduced you to the business committed to your success?
If the person who introduced you to the business is not committed at all, you will be working on this business alone. Why work for someone who doesn't help you at all?
Are you able to do this part-time without affecting your full-time income?
Network marketing for most people is a part-time business. Of course there are people who are full-time network marketers. But most people are full-time employees and are looking for a gradual change for more time and money in their personal life. If the company you join requires a high level of commitment, most people will not come onboard on the business.
Is this meaningful and fun for you?
If what you are doing is not meaningful or fun, then you will lose the drive and motivation to work on it. Find a product that is helping you, and is able to help others while having fun too.

How Network Marketing Can Help Your Current Business Grow
Have you heard the phrase "Network = Networth"?
A great article by Jason Mannino in The Huffington Post talks about how 60-80% of jobs are filled by networking, insider contacts and word of mouth. The same concept applies to self-employed and business owners too. We get orders and jobs from clients more often than not that are within our network due to our mutually beneficial relationships and trust that we build through time.
So what is "networking"?
Simply put, networking is the process of cultivating mutually beneficial long term relationships with other people to for the achievement of professional goals. It definitely doesn't just stop there of course. It can also improve your life in other aspects.
How does Network Marketing improve my own business?
Robert Kiyosaki said "The richest people in the world build networks. Everyone else looks for work." If you aren’t building your own network, you are working for somebody else's network and increasing their net worth. If we want to be successful and wealthy, the best strategy is to build a strong, viable, growing network.
In every business, we need a strong network. A network that buys into your products and services or does the advertising for you, because the word-of-mouth advertising is the best form of advertising. Which is the reason how some movies weren't highly marketed but is about to attract many to watch it.
When you join a network marketing company, you will have access to the network of that company. And also, when you start building your network marketing business, you are building your own network as well. The people that you refer, and the people that they refer and so on.. will be part of your network. You can alternatively channel them into your current business. How much you channel is also dependent on how good of a leader are you currently in your network marketing business.
Then through this network, you can then tap on their network to bring in more business.
